Bio

Chris Sollars’ work subverts public space through interventions and performance. The results are documented using photographs, sculptures, and video that are integrated into mixed-media installations. His awards include a 2013 Guggenheim Fellowship, 2013 Individual Artist Commission grant from the San Francisco Arts Commission, 201 Investing in Artists grant from the Center for Cultural Innovation, and a 2015 Recology San Francisco Artist in Residence. In 2008, Sollars completed C Red Blue J, which screened at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art on Election Day. His recent exhibitions include Hoof & Foot at the Manetti Shrem Museum of Art; DAAAM at California State University, Chico; and Jewish Folktales Retold: Artist as Maggid.
