Ife Tayo F. Walker

About

Ife Tayo Walker comes from an education and community service background having taught in the Oakland Public School System, administered community-based programs with the Oakland YMCA, and served as the San Francisco Director of the Robert F. Kennedy Fellows Program. It was in this work that she came to understand the importance of inclusive leadership and community building. 

Ife Tayo joined Mills College in support of the Master of Public Policy Program in 2005 and later became the Manager of Student Services for the Lorry I. Lokey School of Business and Public Policy. In her work at Mills College and now at Mills College at Northeastern, Ife Tayo coordinated student and alumnae-based events and supported student leadership efforts in local government, business, and equity. During the pandemic, she worked to help maintain a sense of community for Mills College faculty and staff by supporting affinity/heritage events and programming for Diversity and Cultural Competency. She currently serves as associate director of belonging for Mills College at Northeastern. She is a Black Faculty and Staff Association co-chair, event coordinator for the Black Reparations Project, and the Black Student Collective advisor.   

Ife Tayo received her BA from San Francisco State University in Liberal Studies and is currently working toward her Master of Higher Education Administration.
